National Library Week Scavenger Hunt

Welcome to our National Library Week Scavenger Hunt 2020!
Due to the COVID-19 shutdown, our libraries are closed but that doesn’t mean we are unable to help our patrons. A library is more than just a physical building! Thankfully we can still serve the public through digital and virtual services. National Library Week celebrates and demonstrates the many services libraries give to the community. In keeping with that theme, the library has created a National Library Week Scavenger Hunt that explores our online services.
Here is what you need to do to enter:
- Find the answers using the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library’s online resources.
- Use screen shot or take a photo of the answer and the database you found it in.
- Submit the answers to jhoey@mclinc.org
The patrons who submit the most correct answers will be given two raffle tickets towards a 23&Me Ancestry kit that will be awarded on September 1st, 2020. The online resources can be found on www.mc-npl.org under eResources.
- Libraries offer many services including physical and online books (audio, print, eBooks, magazines). Find the online resource that offers both graphic novels and magazines and locate Better Homes and Gardens magazine and the graphic novel, Captain America by Ed Brubaker.
- COVID- 19 is the latest of the Corona viruses. Can you give me the names of the first two types and where they first originated?
- Many of the questions we receive revolve around local services. Locate our online resource and use it to conduct an area search for doctors in Norristown.
- Many patrons come to the library to do career searches. Find our online resource that offers aid in job searches and take the career skills match quiz. Show us your results.
- We also offer a variety of digital children’s services. One of our online resources offers examples of science projects. Locate the database and show us an example of a science fair project.
