Do you offer curbside pickup service?
Curbside pickup hours for the Main Library:
Mon, Wed, Fri: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Tues, Thurs: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM
Sat: 10 AM – 2 PM

How do I get a library card?
Montgomery County residents can get a library card by visiting the library. Please bring your photo ID along with proof of current address. More information

Alternatively, you can apply for a temporary library card so that you can access our online resources and services. More information

How do I renew my library card?
Your library card is issued for two years and can be renewed every two years at the main library, one of our four branches or any bookmobile stop. Just bring your library card along with photo ID and proof of current address.
What do I do if I have lost my library card?
Notify a staff member immediately as you will be responsible for any materials checked out on that library card number until it is reported lost or stolen. The replacement cost is $3.00 for an adult card. ($1.00 for the first juvenile card replacement and then $3.00 for any additional replacements.)
Does the library offer computer classes?
The library offers free one-on-one computer classes over the internet. Instruction is conducted through remote connection software, between the instructor’s computer and your computer at home or at a computer in the Main Library. The instructor will be able to see your screen and even control your mouse and keyboard! Learn more
Are computers available for public use?
Yes. The Computer Lab at the Main Library has two computers available for public use by appointment.

Computer Appointment hours for the Main Library:
Mon-Sat: 10 AM – 3 PM

  • Sessions are limited to 45 minutes per day/user in the Computer Lab.
  • A library card in good standing is required to use the computers in the Computer Lab.
  • All public access computers provide access to the Internet as well as to Microsoft Office applications.
  • All the computers are linked to a black and white laser printer. There is a nominal fee for printing.

Do you have wireless Internet access?
Yes. WiFi is free. However, we do not provide WiFi printing.
Do you have fax?

Do you loan eBooks and magazines to be read on my personal device?
Yes. Thousands of digital books, audio books, and magazines are available for download to a personal device. Learn more
Can I pick up an Item from a library other than my home library?
Yes, most items can be picked up at the main library, one of our four branches and any bookmobile stop.

ILL (Inter-Library Loan) materials must be picked up and returned at the specific library at which they were requested.

Can I return an item to a library other than my home library?
Yes. Most items can be returned to any public library in Montgomery County.
Can I change the pickup location for a requested book after the request is placed?
Yes. For most items you can change the pickup location by calling your home library. ILL (Inter-Library Loan) materials must be picked up and returned at the specific library at which they were requested.
How do I know which new items have been added to the collection?
Sign up for Wowbrary to get a weekly email and find out what new items have been added to the collection.
How will you notify me about information regarding my account including reserved items?
We may communicate with you via phone, email, or text message. These communications will be for library purposes only.

You can select your preferred method of communication when your library card application is filled out. To change how the library communicates with you, please contact the library.

For text messaging notices, we will need your cell phone number and your carrier (e.g. Verizon, Sprint, etc.)

Can I pay fines with my credit card or debit card?
Cash, check and money order are the only forms of payment currently accepted in person at the main library, branches, and bookmobiles. Fines totaling $5.00 or more may also be paid online with a credit card. However, all credit card transactions must be made to cardholders’ library accounts online. Cardholders need both their library card barcode number and a password to access their account. Visit the account login page to create a password. Please note, there is a $1.00 processing fee for each credit card transaction, and debit cards are not accepted.
Do you accept donated books?
Due to the pandemic, the library is not accepting book donations at this time.
Do you have public meeting spaces available for rent?
Meeting rooms are currently not available.
