Support Staff I
The Upper Perkiomen Valley Library branch of Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library seeks a flexible and reliable part time employee to fill a Support Staff I position. 16 hours/week; Monday & Wednesday evenings, and Fridays preferred, with ability to work some Saturdays required. Duties include circulation desk, opening and closing library, helping patrons with use of computers, answering general reference questions, shelving and shelf maintenance. Support Staff I
The Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library seeks a flexible and reliable part time employee to fill a Support Staff I position with its Circulation Department team. 15-18 hours per week, flexible schedule including some day hours and requiring at least two evenings per week and Saturdays in rotation. The primary responsibilities of this position are to assist the Head of Reader’s Services in marketing library services through social media, assisting Adult/Teen programming and activities. Also performs regular Circulation Desk functions as required.

Main Qualifications include, but not limited to:
Previous work experience of 0-4 years

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have valid PA driver’s license and the ability to work at any of the Library’s locations
  • Must be computer literate and have knowledge of professional use of social media
  • Must have a customer service-driven attitude and recognize the need for and importance of confidentiality

Head of Technical Processing
Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library seeks Head of Technical Processing. Reference Librarian (part-time)
The Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library seeks a flexible and reliable part-time Reference Librarian with an MLS (or equivalent) from an ALA accredited school. 2+ years of experience in a public library preferred but not required. Good communication and technical (Microsoft Office, database searching, general computer use) skills are required. Must maintain a valid PA driver’s license and have the ability to work at any and all of MC-NPL’s 5 locations. This position includes evening and weekend hours.
