Human Resources Administrator, Full-Time

The Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library is hiring a collaborative leader to be our Human Resources Administrator. Your work entails Human Resources, full cycle recruiting, employee relations, compliance, assisting managers with performance evaluations, compensation, workers compensation, training and organizational development, as well as assisting with volunteer services to the Library. You will serve as the HR consultant to Library management and employees in providing leadership, training and expertise on issues related to Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Workers’ Compensation, FLSA, EEOC and local and state regulatory issues. Support Staff I: Circulation Clerk, Conshohocken Free Library, Part-Time

The Conshohocken Free Library, a branch of the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library, seeks a part-time (8-12 hours/week) Circulation Clerk. May include weekday, evening, and weekend shifts. Provide outstanding public library service to patrons. Support activities of the branch by staffing the public service desk, performing clerical tasks, and assisting the Branch Manager and other staff with projects and programming. Greet patrons; answer patron questions in person, by email, and by phone; open and close the library; check in and check out library materials; shelve and retrieve materials. Wage: $15.00/hour.

High School diploma or equivalent required. Previous work experience of 0–4 years. Good organizational ability. Good reading and filing skills. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to deal effectively and pleasantly with the public. Good workstation computer literacy. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications preferred. Working knowledge of Dewey Decimal classification system preferred. Position requires lifting as much as 30 pounds, standing for extended periods of time, and the ability to work at any of the Library’s locations.

The successful applicant for this position will be a true team player, self-motivated, and driven to build great relationships with our patrons and our community. Must have completed at least one academic year of post-secondary school education, or possess at least 5-7 years previous work experience. Excellent spoken and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Dewey Decimal classification system preferred. Seniors Outreach Bookmobile Coordinator, Full Time

The Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library’s Bookmobile & Outreach Department seeks a full-time (37.0 hours/week) employee to lead the activities of the seniors bookmobile team, Words On Wheels (WOW). Provide library outreach services to 55+ year old patrons at residential facilities and activity centers throughout the county. Establish positive working relationships with facility and center staff. Schedule the WOW for regular visits. Communicate schedules, policies and procedures to all stakeholders. Develop and maintain the WOW collection. Design and deliver outreach programs. Provide reader’s advisory to seniors. Drive and operate bookmobiles and cargo vans on scheduled routes.

The mission focus is to deliver public library services to seniors that may experience challenges in accessing a library building. The WOW team consistently delivers exceptional customer service, demonstrates high engagement, and establishes persistent relationships with this special service population.

The Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library’s Adult Services Department seeks a part-time (8.0-12.0 hours/week) library shelver. May include weekday, evening, and weekend shifts. Provide outstanding public library service to patrons. Reshelve items, assure shelved items are in the correct order, and find items to fill patron hold requests. Assist patrons in finding items in stacks. Under supervision of a manager, assist in stack maintenance projects. May provide clerk or program support to other staff. Wage: $15.00/hour.

At least 16 years of age. Previous work experience of 0–4 years. Good organizational ability. Good reading and filing skills. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to deal effectively and pleasantly with the public. Good workstation computer literacy. Position requires lifting as much as 30 pounds, standing for extended periods of time, and reliable transportation to the primary work site.

Library Support Staff I: Delivery Driver—Full Time

Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library’s Bookmobile & Outreach Department seeks a full-time employee to drive an extended cargo van countywide, packing, delivering, and retrieving materials between libraries and other locations. Monitors and fuels vehicles, reports needed repairs, performs minor preventive maintenance on vehicles, and cleans/washes interior and exterior of vehicles, as required. This position is full-time, 37 hours per week. Employer-sponsored health insurance, generous paid time off, and other benefits included. Salary: $31,265.00 per year.

Must possess high school diploma or equivalent. Previous work experience of 0-4 years. Strong organizational skills, position involves heavy lifting—sometimes as much as 40 pounds—and standing for extended periods of time. Must possess good driving skills and ability to interact well with co-workers and staff members of client libraries. Position requires a valid, points-free PA driver’s license and the ability to work at any of the Library’s locations.
