Cataloger

Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library seeks part-time Cataloger. An MLS degree is required. 15 hours/week, including evenings & Saturdays in rotation. Will catalog print & non-print materials, and assist with database maintenance. OCLC & RDA familiarity preferred. Must be a certified PA Professional Librarian. Ability to work at all locations as required and must have a valid PA driver license. EOE/M-F

Bookmobile Operator, Support Staff II, Full-Time

Seeking an enthusiastic and engaging public library service employee to join our mobile branch library. Responsible for providing outstanding library outreach service to the public throughout Montgomery County. Drive a 28-foot bookmobile on a rotating schedule including evening and weekend shifts. A CDL is not required, but you must have a valid PA driver’s license with a point-free driving record. Experience in the book trade – bookstores, libraries, and/or library science student, etc., is a big plus. This is a customer-facing position where you will staff a library front desk, field questions from the public, and guide patrons.
Must be self-motivated and have a positive attitude towards customer service. Your employment history should demonstrate personal integrity, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work individually or on a team. Computer literacy is required. Familiarity with library automation systems preferred. Must have completed at least one academic year of post-secondary school education, or possess at least 5-7 years previous work experience.
Must have the ability to work at any of the Library’s locations and to fill in as a substitute delivery van driver, as needed. Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds.

Temporary Driver for MC-NPL Bookmobile & Outreach Department (SS1 Pony Driver)

Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library’s Bookmobile & Outreach Department seeks a temporary, part-time driver for approximately 4 -6 weeks of day shift work depending on need. Position is for 28 hours per week, Mon-Thurs. Employee will drive an extended cargo van countywide, packing, delivering, and retrieving materials between libraries and other locations. Monitors and fuels vehicles, reports needed repairs, performs minor preventive maintenance on vehicles, and cleans/washes interior and exterior of vehicles, as required.

Must possess high school diploma or equivalent. Previous work experience of 1-4 years. Strong organizational skills, position involves heavy lifting – sometimes as much as 40lbs – and standing for long periods of time. Must possess good driving skills and ability to interact well with co-workers and staff members of client libraries. Position requires a valid, points-free PA driver’s license and the ability to work at any of the Library’s locations.

Royersford Support Staff I

The Royersford Branch of the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library seeks to fill a Support Staff I position. Temporary, part-time, 8 hours per week including day time hours, evenings and Saturdays. Excellent customer service, clerical, and communication skills required. Must be computer literate, have a valid PA driver’s license, and the ability to work at all MC-NPL locations as needed. Among other duties, job includes checking in materials, shelving,
retrieving materials, and assisting patrons and coworkers.
