Circulation Clerk (Part-time)
The Perkiomen Valley Library, a branch of Montgomery County-Public Library is in search of a Circulation Clerk. This position is responsible for providing outstanding public library service to patrons. It also supports the activities of the Library by staffing the public service desk, performing clerical tasks, and assisting the Branch Manager and other staff with projects and programming. As needed, the Circulation Clerk acts as substitute staff at the main library, bookmobiles, and branches. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, have a positive attitude toward customer service, possess personal integrity, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work individually or on a team.

Qualifications:

Library Assistant (Full-time)
The Perkiomen Valley Library at Schwenksville is in search of a full-time Library Assistant. This position is responsible for providing outstanding public library service to patrons. It supports activities at the Library, by assisting in staffing the public service desk, performing clerical tasks, and coordinating projects, and programming. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and have a positive attitude towards customer service. They must also possess personal integrity, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work individually or on a team.

General Responsibilities:
• Opens/closes the library.
• Registers patrons for library cards.
• Places patron hold requests.
• Circulates library materials.
• Collects fines and fees.
• Advises patrons on selection of library materials.
• Answers or refers patron reference, account, policy, and technology questions.
• Performs various library clerical functions.
• Markets library services and programs.
• Represents library at municipal community days and other library outreach events.
• Ensures library collection is correctly shelved.
• Assists Department Manager with the acquisition and weeding of library materials.
• Finds, processes, and ships item hold requests.
• Develop and deliver library programming.
• Coordinate special projects, as assigned.
• Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
• Must have completed at least one academic year of post-secondary school education or possess at least 5-7 years previous work experience.
• Must have excellent spoken and written communication skills.
• Must have good organizational ability.
• Must possess the ability to deal effectively and pleasantly with the public.
• Must possess excellent computer literacy and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Support Staff I: Digital Literacy Clerk (Part-time)
Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library, seeks a part-time (19 hours/week) Digital Literacy Clerk. Responsible for providing outstanding computer assistance to patrons in the computer lab, helping in a wide range of digital tasks such as creating resumes, filling out job applications, creating email accounts and sending emails. Assist with the implementation of computer instruction curriculum, offering one-on-one instruction and teaching classes as needed. Supports activities of the MC-NPL by staffing the public service desk when needed, performing clerical tasks, and assisting the Department Head and other staff with projects and programming. Act as substitute staff at the circulation desk, and in other departments at the main library, bookmobiles, and branches, as needed. Must be self-motivated and have a positive attitude towards customer service. Must possess personal integrity, a strong work ethic, and ability to work individually or on a team.

Reference Librarian (Part-time)
Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library is in search of a part-time Reference Librarian. As a direct report to the Reference Services Department Head, the Reference Librarian serves as a professional reference librarian for patrons in the main library, branch, and bookmobile service areas. Provide reference services support to district libraries and their patrons. Participate in regional and statewide virtual reference services. Perform collection development in assigned areas. Write and administer grants to enhance department offerings. Develop and deliver training, workshops, and programs for staff and the public. Cross-train with other departments and branches to provide staffing assistance, as needed.

Qualifications for Employment
- Master’s Degree in Library Science. Ability to obtain certification as a Professional Librarian by PA Bureau of Teacher Certification.
- Experience in patron-facing public library services is preferred.
- Work experience in library reference services is desired.
- Familiarity with Integrated Library Systems (ILS) is preferred and Polaris ILS is desired.
- Spanish language fluency is desired.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
