August Movie Line Up

Field of Dreams – Friday, August 2 1pm

Join us for a matinee movie in the community room! Registration is not required but space may be limited.

Capra-esque Americana about an Iowa farmer who heeds an ethereal proposition: “If you build it, he will come.” So he lays out a baseball diamond in his cornfield, and who should show up but long-dead ballplayer Shoeless Joe Jackson and a squadful of departed Major Leaguers.  This movie is rated PG with a run time of 1 hour and 47 minutes.

Join us for a matinee movie in the community room!

The Sandlot: A young boy moves to a new neighborhood where he is taken in by a group of local baseball players. The new gang of friends finds themselves caught in many adventures; including getting a prized ball back from the menacing neighborhood dog.

This movie is rated PG with a run time of 1 hour and 41 minutes.

A League of Their Own – Friday, August 16 1pm

Join us for a matinee movie in the community room!  No registration required, but space may be limited.  This movie is rated PG with a run time of 2 hours and 8 minutes.  A look at the first women’s professional baseball league is set during World War II and focuses on the rivalry between sisters, one a sweet-swinging catcher and the other a pouty, impulsive pitcher, who play on the same team, which is managed by a washed-up, hard-drinking ex-Major Leaguer.

Dune: Part 2 – Monday, August 26 4:30pm

Join us for an evening movie in the community room!  Registration is not required but space may be limited.  This movie is rated PG-13 with a run time of 2 hours and 46 minutes.

“Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. The Shawshank Redemption – Wednesday, August 28 2pm
