Summer Reading Club 2014

Author David Lubar will be in the main library for his book tour at 4pm. Stop by to pick up his book Hidden Talents and listen in on the discussion.

Participate in our summer reading program by stopping in for a reading log, or signing onto our online program. Keep track of the reading you do over the summer, check in to show us your progress, and win prizes! For 6th through 12th grade.

Real World CSI 
Date:Wednesday, June 20
Time: 2:00 p.m.
Age limit: Grade 6 to 12
Led by Lt. Richard Nilsen, Commander of the Montgomery County Detective Bureau’s Forensic Services Unit. Students get a real-life look at how crime scene detectives find, document and preserve evidence. Students will review actual crime scene photos and get hands-on experience in developing fingerprints, interpreting bloodstain patterns and laser scanning.
Monster Game Day

Age limit: Grade 6 to 12
Bring your best Yu-gi-oh, Magic the Gathering, or Pokémon decks and battle it out!
Drawing with Troy 
Date:Wednesday, July 11
Time: 11:00 a.m.
Age limit: Grade 6 to 12
Learn how to draw your favorite cartoons, manga, and anime characters.
4-H Babysitting Course 
Date:Monday, July 16 – Friday, July 20
Time: 10:30 a.m.12 p.m.
Age limit: Grade 6 to 12
Sponsored by the Penn State Cooperative, this 5 day course is designed to teach young teens how to safely baby-sit, deal with emergencies, and keep youngsters occupied. All 5 classes must be attended in order to receive a certificate upon completion. Free, butregistration is required. Forms are available at the Front Desk
Healthy Lifestyles 
Date:Wednesday,July 25 & Friday, July 27
Time: 2 p.m.
Age limit: Grade 6 to 12
Have hands –on activities, try some healthy snacks, and have great healthy living conversations with nutritionists from Penn State 4-H Cooperative.

Backyard Astronomy

Presented by Delaware Valley Amateur Astronomers.Learn what you can see with the naked eye, binoculars and small telescopes; to spot constellations and how to find them throughout the year.
Twilight/Vampire/Werewolf
Trivia

Time: 2 p.m.
Age limit: Grade 6 to 12
Come test your knowledge of the Twilight series as well as general knowledge of Vampires and Werewolves. Bring your friends and see who knows the most.
Make your own
“Own the Night” t-shirt 

Date:Wednesday, August 15
Time: 2 p.m.
Age limit: Grade 6 to 12
T-shirts will be preprinted with various “Night” themes for you to color in and take home.
Marvel Movie Day

Join us for a showing of Thor from the Marvel Universe movies that led up to the new Avengers movie in theaters.
