Tax Season


Due to circumstances beyond our control, Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library will not host a tax filing assistance program for the 2018 filing year. Click the FREE TAX FILING ASSISTANCE PROVIDERS heading below for a list of organizations that will provide assistance.

The library has received the 1040 tax forms and instructions. Libraries will not receive any 2018 Pennsylvania State tax forms. Click the TAX FORM INFORMATION heading below for the websites and locations providing forms.


The following free income tax filing services are provided to members of the community. Be mindful that some organizations require certain qualifications in order to provide assistance.

AARP Tax Aide

AARP offers free income tax filing services at several locations. Please contact the location before planning your visit because appointment availability may be limited.

Free tax filing services are available for families with a household income of $55,000 or less.

Federal Taxes:

There are no 1040A or 1040EZ forms for 2018 due to changes in tax laws. The 1040 is now the basic tax form.

We have the booklets for the 1040 form with included schedules 1-6. We also have the 1040 instructions.

The IRS website has printable tax forms. It also has helpful tips and guides to assist in filling out the forms.

State Taxes:

The PA Department of revenue is no longer distributing any PA tax forms to libraries. This includes the PA Rent Rebate forms. Forms will be eventually posted on the Department of Revenue’s website.
