The tutorials on this page were created by the staff of the Computer Lab at the Montgomery County Norristown Public Library. There are additional instructions and resources available on the OverDrive website.


Hands-On-Help

At this time, we are not offering formal classes in how to get library eBooks onto devices. As a first step, we always request that you try our thorough and easy-to-understand tutorials as well as the Help offerings on the OverDrive website. If you are still unsuccessful in obtaining our library eBooks, we would be happy to give you some one-on-one help. We do this by appointment. Please call the Computer Lab at 610-278-5100, ext 141 for an appointment. Important: Please carefully read the content below for your device to learn what to bring with you to your appointment.

Kindle/Kindle HD/Kindle Fire

We will focus on how to find and borrow library eBooks so that you can read them on a Kindle Device. We will present what is needed to borrow a library eBook and demonstrate how to browse the digital collection and how to manage your digital account.

Please come prepared with:
1. A valid library card with a PIN number(stop at the circulation desk before your appointment  to make sure your card is not expired and to set your pin)
2. Your Amazon ID and password.
3. Your USB connector if your Kindle is 3G


iPad

We will focus on how to find and borrow library eBooks using the OverDrive Media Console app on an iPad.

Please come prepared with:
1. A valid library card with a PIN number(stop at the circulation desk before your appointment to make sure your card is not expired and to set your pin)
2. Your Apple ID and password
3. Your Adobe ID and password (if you have one)


Non-Kindle eReaders or Android Devices

Please come prepared with:
1. A valid library card with a PIN number(stop at the circulation desk before your appointment to make sure your card is not expired and to set your pin)
3. Your Adobe ID and password (if you have one)
