June 14 through August 16, 2014

For every two hours a child reads (or is read to), he or she earns one free book plus a chance to win a bicycle or a $50 Barnes and Noble certificate!

Pick up a Summer Reading Log from the Children’s Department beginning June 14. Keep track of how many minutes you read, then check in after you’ve read (or been read to) for two hours to claim your prize. Maximum of 10 free books per child. For ages 0-12.

Summer dates: June 21, July 19, and August 16

Elementary age kids can read to specially trained dogs. Bring your own book or read one of ours. Ages 4-12.

Mondays at 4:00-5:00 pm from June 23 through August 11 for children entering grades 2 to 6 (no class June 30)

Create bracelets and more using parachute cord, yarn, shrinky dinks and rubber band looms.
