September 17th is National Voter Registration Day. Are you registered to vote in our big election this November? Do you need help registering or have questions about the process? We will have a representative from Montgomery County Voter Services at the library to explain how Montco runs elections to maintain fairness and accuracy. We can show you how to register, give you important deadline information, and help you find your polling place.
For the main event, Yvonne Platts will bring famous African-American voting rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer to life. Ms. Hamer’s amazing story will remind each of us not to take the right to vote for granted. Light refreshments will be served. Crafts and coloring will be available for kids. Bring the whole family to learn an important part of our nation’s history.
