Your library card gets you more than great books–you also have access to some digital research resources that will be very helpful for homeschooling or doing school-from-home.  

 

Contact the library if you want help getting started with any of these resources!

  • PAPowerKids – includes BookFlix and TrueFlix.  These PA resources pair streaming videos with classic books and related real-life topics.  There are also 2 new collections of ebooks for kids.
  • PAPowerTeens – links to great research databases and more.
  • Tumblebooks – This collection includes read-along animated storybooks, as well as chapter books, puzzles and games.
  • RBDigital – A collection of over 100 digital magazines & comics, including titles for kids and adults.
  • Libby & Overdrive – These programs allow you to access our ebook and Overdrive collection.  Download the Libby app on your tablet, iPad or smart phone; use Overdrive on a laptop or desktop computer.
  • Mango Languages – Learn a new language, or get extra practice with one you have been learning in school.  
  • LearningExpress – skills practice and test prep help for elementary school through college.  Also offers help learning computer skills, and other resources for job searching.
  • AncestryLibraryEdition –  for older kids, with an interest in genealogy, or adults.  Ancestry’s parent company is making this popular resource available at home at least through the end of September!
